Hurt Feelings

Hurt feelings play an extremely important role with both self-working and non-working people, but in different ways. To the non-working person, hurt feelings are unconscious and they are resented. Since these states are psychologically unproductive, they keep alive the habit of hurt feelings. The self-working person tries to make hurt feelings conscious, for he knows this will end them. Far from resenting injured feelings, he happily realizes that any negative state can be used for its own destruction.
